My name is Chido, I am 23 years old, currently pursuing my Master’s in Melbourne, Australia. I am a freelance model who enjoys being in front of the camera. I’m wild at heart. Addictive. Fire.
What made you get involved with this?
I was always interested in the idea of modelling from a young age. I just began getting many photo-shoots done. For me it’s not really about modelling, it’s about the image. The message, expression and the art behind the pictures. Every picture has a meaning and feeling behind it. Communication, it’s art!
Who do you admire most in life?
My mum, she’s my biggest inspiration.
How would those who know you best, describe your personality?
I could be best described as mysterious, loving, caring, soulful, free spirited, real, smart, unbothered, intuitive, enigmatic and funny.
What are your best memories of growing up in Zimbabwe?
Playing tennis with my dad on Sunday afternoons and definitely birthdays.
What are the phrases you use a lot?
Pakaipa & that’s beautiful
What is your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate & A soulful connection
Important lesson has life taught you?
To be humble, to always treat people well on your way up as you may need them on your way down. Honesty, to be honest and true to yourself and others. Actions speak louder than words, words mean nothing and actions say everything words don’t say.
Top songs in your playlist right now:
Rasta got soul – Fantan Mojah
This kind love – Patoranking
Affairs of the heart – Damian Marley
Dirty wine – WizKid
Ndiyende – Celscius
How would you like to be remembered?
I would like to express my own version of beauty through my images and hopefully they can have a positive impact on people. I want to be remembered for simply being me. Authentic.
When are you happiest?
Happiness is such a powerful word that I am still learning the meaning of it. I mean, so many things and people make me happy, but I would probably say when I write poetry, when I dance when I am around friends and family. I wouldn’t limit it to one thing.
